02 — Personalisation
The part that makes it theirs
Everything else on a gift is a garment. What turns it into a present is the handful of characters you choose — and those characters are the whole reason nothing here can be made before you ask for it.
- A name
- Set in full, or the version only their family uses. The name is printed as it is spelled, so it can be Margaret or it can be Mog.
- A date
- A birthday, an anniversary, the day the keys were handed over. Write the month out if the piece is crossing a border.
- Initials
- Two letters and an ampersand, for the people who would never wear their whole name across their chest.
